How to Use the Dice Rough Draft Now you know that this forum uses dice, that rolling the appropriate dice for your skills/attributes is required when taking an action as a character, but how do you use these mysterious dice? Good Question the forum has a dice roller, now it's still a little fresh and sometimes is a little clunky we hope to refine it in time. For now I know it's a little confusing, but when you go to post in a thread you'll notice all those buttons on the top of your writing box when doing a proper reply and at the end of those buttons is a little picture of a dice. When you click that picture a little text blurt will show up within brackets. 'roll or roll range' Now this by itself doesn't make much sense and I imagine you are wondering where the hell do I type the dice values and what do I type? Well dependent on your skills and attributes and what the Game Master has told you, you can and/or should roll you'll be dealing with die values ranging from d2, d4, d6, d8, d10, and d12. I'll type this now without the brackets so that the site doesn't get confused, but typing up a roll should look something like this. 'roll=1d4 or roll=1d10' something like that within brackets would look something like this. P5fUgpDH1d41d10 Unfortunately I'm quite aware that big clunky box graphics with the dice results isn't very seemly, hopefully we can fix that up eventually. I much prefer the clear cut 1d4= *result* look or something like that in a simple line, but this is what's working right now. So for now I'm thinking that a lot of dice is likely going to be done in private messages and private lines back and forth between players and game masters or dice rolls will likely be put at a bottom of a post under a line or something. Anyway hopefully you understand how to use the virtual dice here on the forum now. 1d4·1d4·1d10
